Ah, the lure of ‘One day!’
Hoping things will be better
Tomorrow will be yet another day
Pinning our hopes on the morrow
Dreaming of a life we want
Devoid of pain, suffering, and sorrow
And yet, every day goes by
Just as dreary as the one before
As we stand by, just asking,’Why?’
Probably, it’s easier to dream and just be
Reckoning and rationalizing that today will pass
To bring in the day, we aspire it to be.
But, I’d rather take the road ahead
And bruise and fall and stand again
Than choose to hope, till the future’s dead
Because,
One day is today and never again.
