Ideas Do Work – Our (Comeback) Story

Two years ago, we published The Bun Maska Corner (BMC) blog for the first time. It was purely an emotional decision. As friends, we felt like working on a creative project, so we started writing our short stories. Over the next two years, you gave us a lot of love. However, we faltered on many fronts, and in the last few months, we didn’t post anything.

BMC has always been about emotions. It was a story land where we tried to extract unique perspectives from mundane happenings of life. It was meant to be a free-flowing expression. But somewhere along the way, perhaps we became too quality conscious. In this pursuit of excellence, our free flow of expression dried up, and we went silent.

We insisted on building this blog on our own. In a way, we succeeded in harnessing technology to our advantage. However, over time, we realized that the technology we used was difficult to maneuver and maintain. It worked well for us initially, but it couldn’t sustain. We had ideas in our minds, but it became challenging to translate them technologically.

Since our last post on the blog about two months ago, wherever we went, people asked us about BMC. They inquired about the lack of new content on the site. Many of you expressed eagerness for new content, and we were stunned and motivated by the love shown by all of you. We decided to course-correct and rebuild the blog.

We changed our hosting and domain. Now it’s easier to find us (just type bmcblog.com) and the beautiful site will load faster. We’ve added our real names and improved the clarity of the content, which you’ll find much easier to navigate. We’ll post freely about unique experiences in our lives, ensuring consistency.

The most striking aspect of this rebuilding process has been the ease with which we could get it up and running. When we started BMC, we were completely naive in both writing and technology. We faced obstacles at every step. It took a lot of effort to set up even the smallest things, consuming time, energy, and money.

But this time, it was all different. We knew exactly how the website should look, what sections to have, how to maintain clarity about content, and even how to be consistent. Our emotional project has unknowingly taught us many things, both technical and creative. This has been the biggest lesson for us: if you feel intensely about an idea, you should execute it without fear of failure. Regardless of the outcome, you gain a wealth of knowledge and wisdom.

Happy reading!
